This qualification forms the combined knowledge and competency elements of the Intermediate Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. It can also be taken as a stand-alone qualification

Course Description

This qualification aimed at learners aged 16+ who have an interest in working with children and young people and are looking to work in such roles as: 

1. Early years worker/assistant
2. Care worker/assistant
3. Assistant youth support and community worker

It covers communication, personal development, equality and inclusion as well as child and young person development, safeguarding, health and safety, positive behaviour and environments, partnership working and maintaining and supporting relationships with children and young people.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?, 

20 weeks

How is the qualification assessed?, 

It is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which will be put together during the course and demonstrates that the learner has met the required assessment criteria.

What next?, 

Learners successfully completing this qualification may wish to progress onto further qualifications, such as: Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) (RQF); Advanced Apprenticeship for Children and Young People’s Workforce; Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
