Effective teaching and learning techniques
We chose our academic staff and lecturers for their in‐depth knowledge of the subject, academic experience, communication skills and dedication to the provision of assistance in student progress. We follow the proven methodologies for adult education and these methodologies are tested against students’ development and their understanding, performance and practice. We employ a variety of different teaching and learning approaches which include:
• Problem/case-based learning that requires the application of knowledge;
• Interactive teaching sessions;
• Pre-reading before lectures;
• Role-playing and active participation;
• Discussion forums and group study;
• Audio-visual presentations;
• Compulsory assignments;
• Student presentations (individual or group);
• Staff-teaching workshops;
• Mock examinations and learning from the examiner’s comments;
• Intensive revision classes.
